A Dream Forsyth Park and Hotel Bardo Savannah Wedding

Under the shade of Savannah’s iconic sycamores and oaks, Abby and Colin stood before the famous Forsyth Park Fountain, exchanging vows on a dreamlike spring day. It was the kind of moment that felt straight out of a fairytale—where even the birds seemed to sing just for them.

As a Savannah wedding photographer, Forsyth Park remains one of my favorite places to capture love stories. Its historic charm, inspired by Luxembourg Gardens in Paris, holds a timeless romance. Having wandered through those Parisian paths myself, I always feel a deep connection seeing a piece of that beauty here in Savannah’s most beloved park.

The Dream Team Behind the Wedding

A celebration this stunning deserves recognition for the creative minds that brought it to life. This unforgettable Savannah wedding was carefully crafted by my dear friends Lea McGilloway of LM Events and floral artist Emma Whitmore of Grace & Thorne. Their combined artistry transformed Forsyth Park into a scene of pure elegance.

So, when Lea reached out about a Forsyth Park ceremony with a reception at the exquisite Hotel Bardo Savannah, I knew it was going to be something special. Lea treated every detail with care, ensuring that the planning process was seamless and stress-free. Her ability to set up all the touches that made this wedding extraordinary is something I always admire.

A Perfect Match: Abby & Colin

These two could light up any room. Abby’s radiant spirit and Colin’s infectious smile made them a joy to capture from our very first meeting. Their wedding at Hotel Bardo Savannah was nothing short of magical—seamlessly blending the grandeur of the venue with their energy and love.

When you have a couple so effortlessly in love, all it takes to get those magical photos is merely point the camera and shoot.

A Luxurious Wedding Reception at Hotel Bardo Savannah

After their romantic Forsyth Park wedding ceremony, Abby and Colin’s celebration continued at Hotel Bardo Savannah, one of the city’s newest and most breathtaking luxury venues. Nestled just across from Forsyth Park, Hotel Bardo Savannah exudes modern elegance while embracing Savannah’s historic charm.

The Hotel Bardo Savannah’s ballroom was transformed into a stunning reception space, with soft candlelight reflecting off the venue’s rich textures and warm tones. Guests were treated to an unforgettable dining experience at Saint Bibiana, Hotel Bardo’s signature coastal Italian restaurant, featuring handcrafted and curated cocktails that elevated the evening’s festivities.

This mansion is a recommended elegant Savannah venue for couples seeking a luxurious wedding experience. Whether hosting a small wedding of around 50 guests or planning a more formal wedding with fascinators and high fashion, Hotel Bardo Savannah is the ideal setting to make those big decisions with ease.

The History of Hotel Bardo Savannah

Before becoming one of Savannah’s premier luxury destinations, Hotel Bardo Savannah was originally built as a 19th-century Romanesque Revival mansion. The building, with its grand architectural design and intricate detailing, has stood as a symbol of Savannah’s rich history for generations. Over the years, it has undergone various transformations, serving as an upscale residence, a historic landmark, and now a meticulously restored boutique hotel.

When Hotel Bardo Savannah opened its doors, it did so with the intent of blending Savannah’s timeless elegance with modern luxury. The restoration process carefully preserved the building’s original craftsmanship while introducing contemporary design elements that make it a truly unique space. Today, it stands as a testament to the city’s dedication to preserving its architectural heritage while embracing innovation.
